Van alle opdrachten voor de blogger battle die tot nu toe voorbij zijn gekomen is dit by far mijn favoriet. Vrolijke kleurtjes, zwierige rokjes en bloemetjes. Heel veel bloemetjes. Ik heb gekozen voor dichte schoenen om niet het risico te lopen de rest van het festival bij de EHBO te spenderen wanneer iemand met minder geavanceerde dancemoves over je tenen walst. Liever een beetje warmer dan geplette tenen, toch? 

De poging om een soort co-ord te creëren is helaas jammerlijk mislukt, maar uiteindelijk vond ik het resultaat toch best leuk. Een fijne outfit om de hele dag dansjes in het zonnetje te doen. Plus natuurlijk het welbekende en onmisbare bloemenhaarbandje dat "hé ik ga naar een festival ben ik nu cool" schreeuwt. Ach, een beetje cliché is oké. 

Uiteraard hoop ik natuurlijk dat jullie weer lief zijn op mij stemmen, dat kan HIER. <3

Alweer een outfitpost met, hoe kan het ook anders, mijn zwarte Doc Martens. Want wat ik ook probeer, op de een of andere manier eindig ik toch altijd op school met die Doc Martens aan mijn voeten. En dat terwijl ik 'vandaag toch écht andere schoenen aan zou doen.' Het lijkt wel die permanente plakbezwering van Harry Potter. Ze zitten gewoon te fijn en zwart kan overal bij, dus BAM, het perfecte excuus is gevonden.

Plus dat die schoenen ervoor zorgen dat die polka dotblouse er niet helemaal uitziet alsof ik Dolle Mina ben. Of een andere extreme feminist (want gek genoeg sta ik al zo bekend onder mannelijke jaargenoten). 

Okee genoeg geluld voor vandaag, hop aan het werk! Mét Doc Martens, dat dan weer wel.

DIY | STARBUCKS FRAPPUCCINO

Hoe intens fijn zou het zijn om een Starbucks naast je huis te hebben? Lijkt me ideaal. Helaas is het niet zo'n feest, de dichtstbijzijnde Starbucks is enkele reis al 25 minuten met de trein en het kost ook nog eens €10 voor een retourtje. Jammerrrrr.

Gelukkig bestaat er Google en blijkt het ook nog eens makkelijk te zijn om zélf frappuccino te maken. Dichterbij, bijna net zo lekker en mijn portemonnee vindt dit eigenlijk ook stiekem best wel handig.

STARBUCKS FRAPPUCCINO JAVA CHIP

WAT HEB JE NODIG?
  - Koude koffie (ongeveer een kopje, geen grote mok)
 - Pure chocolade
 - Chocoladesaus
 - Slagroom
 - IJsblokjes

 - Blender
 - Koffiezetapparaat
 - Glas

STAP I
Zet de koffie en laat het afkoelen. (Niet vergeten uit de vriezer te halen want dan heb je net als ik koffie-ijs.) Breek ongeveer 1/3 van de reep chocola in stukjes. Doe daarna de ijsblokjes in de blender en hak ze fijn.

STAP II
Voeg de stukjes chocolade en ongeveer 2 à 3 eetlepels chocoladesaus toe aan de ijsblokjes. Afhankelijk van hoe zoet je het wilt kun je natuurlijk altijd meer of minder toevoegen. Doe daarna de afgekoelde koffie erbij. (Het moet wel echt koud zijn anders wordt het een vies warm prutje.)

STAP III
Giet het ijsmengsel in een glas en voeg de slagroom toe. Nog een beetje chocoladesaus erover en TADAAAAA, klaar! Het smaakt niet helemaal precies als de Starbucks versie, maar het komt wel dicht in de buurt en is goedgekeurd door de keuringscommissie aka mijn cafeïneverslaafde broertje.

DIY | Flower Crown

Two DIY's in one week, think i just broke my record... Anyway, i'm having a two-weeks vacation so there's enough time to do some nice DIY's!
Today, i'll show how you can easy make a nice flower crown. Some people love them and others think they look ridicoulous, but i think they are super cool! I mean, when you see those way-too-awesome Coachella pictures and you're just sitting on the couch, grieving because you weren't able to go, you still have your flower crown right?
But when i'm old, rich and famous (yeah, that's never gonna happen), the first thing i do is taking my private yet to the festival and stay there the entier time. My favorite bands, cool people, nice weather and did you see those pictures of the area? I almost got lost...

I was a little too enthousiastic this morning buying flowers. It was so hard to choose, i ended up coming home with waaaay too much flowers.

Well, enough with the talk, let's start fixing it!
What you need:
          ♥ Iron wire
          ♥ Silk flowers
          ♥ Tweezers

1. Measure the size of your head by wrapping a measuring tape around your head. Use a thick iron wire to create a circle with the size of your head. This is the foundation of your crown.

2. Pick out some flowers you want to have on your crown and make an arrangement. Wrap the stems around the iron wire. You can use glue to get them extra tied, but in my case, just wrapping them was enough.

3. Wrap flowers around the iron wire until there isn't any free space left if you want a crown with flowers all around your head. If you only want flowers in the front, use some tape in the back to cover the iron wire. 

And when you think it looks a bit too outstanding: don't be shy and go out, wear this crown like your the princess of May!

DIY | How I made my Q-day top

Let's end this first day of May with a brand new DIY tutorial! Yesterday, we Dutchies celebrated Queensday (about which i will tell you more later) and i wore my self-made flag-printedtop. When i woke up  yesterdaymorning, i still had nothing to wear and it's kind of a tradition here to dress up in our national colors  red/white/blue or orange. But i'm really impulsive, which was handy this time, and decided to do a quick DIY and make my own Queensday top in less than an hour. Yeaaah, i can do that, and so do you!

1. Take an old, big tee (i used one of my fathers).
2. Cut off the sleeves, neck and a few centimetres of the bottom.

3. Cut a big V at the back of your tee and make the gaps for your arms larger. 

4. Use the string you cutted of the bottom to tie the two shoulder-straps together and wrap them a few times. I also made the top high-low by folding it in two and cutting it in a curve. (Sorry, forgot to take a picture...)

5. Use a flat brush to paint your flag. You can choose to make another print of course.

6. Print out a picture of the crown and draw the lines.

TADAAAA, here's your own Queensdaytop! (and you can wear it on 5th may too)

DIY | High Waisted Shorts

Hello Do It Yourself people! Here's a DIY tutorial, to make a high waisted shorts. It's very easy and it doesn't take that much time. Let me know if you succeeded!

What you need:
- High waisted jeans
- Sciccors
- Tape measure
- Pins

1. Take an old high waisted jeans. You can buy them at vintage stores like Episode or Zipper, but i bought mine at a flea market, which is way cheaper.

2. First measure how long you want the shorts to be. It's better to put the jeans on, so you can see what's the right lenght for you. Mark that place with a pin.

3. Cut the jeans on the place you've chosen (you have to take it off first, of course...).

4. Don't take the risk and cut the shorts a little longer then you want them to be, you can always make it shorter later. After you cut the first leg, fold the jeans in two and cut the other leg. Then crop them, on the length you want them to be.

5. Check if the legs have the same lenght. I chose to keep it simple, but you can ad studs or frays if you like.

6. Put the shorts in the washing machine, so the unfinished edges will raffle.

7. I found these little name tags a while ago. It turned out that my mother stitched them in my clothes when i was little. Aren't they cute? ♥

DIY: Studded Jeans Shirt!

In this post, i promised i would make a DIY tutorial for the Studded Jeans Shirt. And here it is! In this tutorial, i teach you how to make this shirt in three steps. It's very easy, the only things you need are:
          ♥ Jeans shirt      
          ♥ Studs
          ♥ Fabric with camouflage (or other) pattern
          ♥ Scissors and seam ripper
          ♥ Needle and thread

 

 1) Use the seamripper to rip off the sleeves. Don't give it a finishing touch and let the seams be ragged. Cut off the bottom of the shirt, as short as you want it to be. 

2) Cut the fabric in shape and sew it on the shirt.

 3) Put the studs on the shirt, wherever you want. I applied them along the seams (on the front and back) and on the collar.
